I find creative inspiration all around me. By blending a simple image with the abstract properties of encaustic collage, I can bend reality. This individual piece was inspired by Monet's study of lilies. I've attempted to capture the brilliance of nature's watercolors and all the shades in between.
This artwork was created by torch fusing encaustic medium, white encaustic paint, oil pastels, and pigment sticks, during a layering process. A digitally edited photo I took of a local mash area was also burnished into the encaustic wax at various levels, during this fusing process.
