I am fascinated by rocks and the energy they seem to have when holding one in your hand. They are long lasting and each one I pick up has an energy and an abstract quality to it. When I draw my stones, I do not set up a still life, I choose a stone to draw, choose a place on the paper to draw it and let the piece develop as it goes along. In this piece I was attempting to show movement with objects that don't usually move without help. Rocks falling through space to land in a special place where we can find them and call them our own.
